I don't think an iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would be a fair comparison as Galaxy Note 3 was launched last year and is a phablet. If you are looking for devices with a 5.5-inch+ screen then you should check out iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. I have the iPhone 6 Plus and just love it.
