so will the new iphone firmware 3.0 be for the new iphone only or are we thinking it will be for the 3G Iphone, and are we gonna want to upgrade to this if is for the 3G or should we wait to see how this will affect jailbreaking and not do this upgrade guess we will have to wait and see still a lot of questions up in the air on this
-
and if there gonna try to compete with palm pre i suggest they go all the way and then some more so theres no contest
-
Another reason to jailbreak... To include things that apple still hasn't added.
-
Hey marcus,
iPhone firmware 3.0 should be available for 1st gen iPhone and iPhone 3G.
We could see more features that can probably be used in the new iPhone.
But it is still just a speculation.
-
oh ok thanks didnt want to get too excited about it if it was for the new iphone, cant wait till tuesday to see what all will be included although I have gotten quite use to clippy and hclipboard not sure if I will like the method spoke of up there in regards to cut and copy and paste but we will see
-
We are very excited, can't wait for Tuesday. It will be interesting to see how Apple implements it especially after seeing the implementation of copy and paste in hClipboard.
-
WAIT SO IF ITS UPDATE, does that mean what i think it means?
FULL BLUETOOTH FUNCTIONALITY!?!??!?!!?!?!?!??!?!?!!i hope so i want a2dp
-
even if they had iChat on the iphone AT&Ts d
Crap 3g network wouldn't handle it. We are YEARS away from that. -
knowing apple they wont give us everything we want but I sure would be very happy with them if they do, the Pre will be coming out soon and if they want people to keep buying iPhones they need to take some of that flash away from the Pre and give it to the iPhone

Yeah competition is always healthy. We just wrote an article on the features
that we can expect in iPhone firmware 3.0 if Keven's statement about Palm
Pre like features:

It's possible, we just wrote an article on the features that we can expect
in iPhone firmware 3.0 if Keven's statement about Palm Pre like features:
http://www.iphonehacks.com/2009/03/palm-pre-like-features-in-iphone-firmware-30-what-can-we-expect-.htmlThough I am aware iBluetooth Project team is working to bring missing
bluetooth profiles, I am not sure if enabling full bluetooth is possible
with a firmware update. -
Ahh yes the debate whether or not bluetooth is a hardware or software problem. The iBP believes its software and so does Medevil so im going to assume they are right since they are the dev's. Hopefully its asoftware but i think its not gonna matter as much after the new iphone comes out and you would be able to trade in. =P

Push and background processing will be allowed for certain "premium" apps. App store will be updated for two tiers of apps. MMS will be in. A rudimentary copy & paste will be implemented, but won't work with all apps due to security concerns. Video will not be in. Springboard wallpaper will be implemented. A new mail app will appear, with landscape keyboard.
-
Hey Andre,
Interesting info, thanks.
What do you mean by App Store will be updated for two tier of apps.
What's the security concern with copying and pasting text. Though copy and paste in apps like Safari, Mail app, notes, calendar app would be good enough.

Now i hope more features come in iOS 5
