how well does the cydia hack to prevent itunes and ota update work
does it mess up anything

    Modern jailbreaks like Pangu and evasi0n7 prevent OTA updates. So if Apple does release an update, you will have to update it via iTunes.

    and that is exactly what i need, a cydia app that prevent my kids from accidentally updating the ipad via hardwire itunes

    please no comment on just tell them or make sure they don't or anything similar
