I was pleasantly surprised when I could make VoIP calls over my 3G connection... shame that it's losing out, coz it was really cool.

NOTE:
Latest version of Intelliscreen dosn't have the App performance option. -
I have the latest Mobile Substrate and Backgrounder with Skype and VoIPover3G and everything works great.

Anyone who managed to use Intelliscreen and Skype, I got the crash problems when installning Intelliscreen, when uninstallning all is back to normal.
Any issues with Backgrounder and battery? Does it drain it quickly, I guess it has some impact but how much?

I have a jail broken 1st gen Iphone via T-mobile USA. (Firmware 2.2 (5G77)
Got Skype working on non 3G t-mobile network.
- I can chat and call via wifi on jailbroken Iphone
- I can chat and call via non 3g network on jailbroken IphoneHere’s what I did :
Via Cydia :
- Download and install “mobile substrat update”
- Download and install VoIPover3G -
Still keeps crashing despite trying all tricks.

Does anybody has the problem that when you try to sign in Skype the following message shows up:
No Network Connection

If you have ilog installed from cydia, uninstalling it will make skype work just fine.

What is Cydia? I also have an Iphone which is unlocked and don't want to intall Skype through Apple. Can this be done?

You can only install Skype from Apple store and its free.
From Cydia (if your phone is jailbroken only) you get additional software to make it work over 3G and not only wifi as well as run it in the background when closing Skype -
Anyone have the .ipa? Or know where I can find it.
Can’t download it in Canada, and would much appreciate using this awesome app.Thanks.

I installed skype on my 1g jailbroken 2.2.1. It was working fine until yesterday. Yesterday, I installed few apps (iBlacklist, callclear) and skype stopped working. Skype splash screen comes for a second and it goes back to home. I uninstalled all the apps but still skype doesn't show the login screen.
Any idea?

I had the skype issue on my jailbroken phone and found a quick fix. 3 min later i was using skype on my modified iphone.

It appears that of the Skype issues may be linked with the istallation of the new iTypeFastR app from Cydia:

after updating Skype to 2.0 on my jailbroken iphone 3G, now it won't run anymore.
I'd see the skype splash screen only to see it crash after 30-40 seconds or so. Could this be related to Cydia again?

Okay....I know I am over a year behind on your topic above by the looks of it but hoping someone will read this and be able to help me out......June 1st 2010 I upgraded skype as requested on my apple apps then I decided to jailbreak my iphone 3GS. Since then my skype app loads up to the "signing in" and just stays there?? If I uninstall then reinstall it works for a bit then does the same. Can someone help me; I am not to tech savy so the ABC easy description on how to fix would be appreciated!!

I have exact same problem as Kyle. I upgraded via App store as recommended and Skype lock after login screen. I hear the login happening and my friends see me online but the screen freezes and cannot go any farther.
Have already tried the usual stuff...upgrade Cydia apps including latest Mobile substrate baseband...rebooted severally...do not have Intelliscreen installed.
Please help...SKYPE support is useless
