Successful Fix has failed

This morning, my ipad's cellular service has again disappeared and I can no longer access my email of choice. When I click on the mail icon, it flashes once and then disappears. I am retired and am not dependent on my ipad for work. If I were, I'd be even more aggravated than I already am. What is happening to the ipads that have been issued to students in public schools around the country? Heading to the genius bar on Sunday and I hope a genius can help. Apple has been strangely silent about this.
