i have iPhone 5c with ios8 and downloaded winter board but can't get any of the themes to work...help

My initial 1st snarky reply may have been premature. Winterboard isn't officially iOS8 compatible, but some are having luck with themes. As you've not listed any themes you're trying to get to show up I must assume you are trying themes that are not yet ready for iOS8.

I want to unjaildbreak my iphone 5s and my itunes is not working responding when i sync or backuped it..can i put my iphone at recovery mode in this situation?
