updated from ios 6 jailbreak to ios 8

in iOS 8 Forum
the update was not successfull, later restarted using home and lock button. now the restore is doing from itunes . can anyone tell me y update was not done well?

    Was your device jailbroken? There are times when the update fails if the device is jailbroken especially when you are upgrading a major version, and in your case was iOS 6 to iOS 8, which is quite a huge jump.
