Dev Team Confirm Jailbreak Process Still Valid for iPhone OS 3.0
Apple has released 5 beta versions of iPhone OS 3.0 so far and the iPhone hacking community has released the unofficial version of QuickPwn to jailbreak them. However, the reason they are unofficial is because they haven't been released by the iPhone Dev Team who had released yellowsn0w, the first...

Ah nooo. I hope they will be able to jailbreak next gen iPhone. Its fun having an iphone but even more fun when it's jailbroken.

Yeah, I hope so too. I don't want to buy the next gen iPhone and not be able to jailbreak it. Anyway, keep up the great job dev team!

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G 2.2.1. So when the 3.0 is launched...I have to wait for the dev team to release a jealbreak for it? or can i still update (obviously it will not be jailbroken) with apple's version without any problems?
thanks -
Off Topic but apple insider have said that the Slingbox app will be released within the next 24 hours @ $30. Will only support wifi but ALL slingboxes will work with the app!!!
Lets hope the voipover3g hack will work with this app

hello dev team please have a solution for a downgrader for 5.09.thanks
-
Have you update to firmware 2.2.1 with or without preserving the baseband.
If you don't care about unlocking and only want to jailbreak your iPhone 3G then you can update to the latest version.
As the Dev Team have mentioned they will release tools to jailbreak iPhone OS 3.0 (you might have to wait for sometime).
However, if you want to unlock your iPhone then you will need to wait for the dev team to release PwnageTool for Mac so you can update your iPhone 3G to OS 3.0 but preserve its baseband to use yellowsn0w to unlock it.

Thanks for the tip!

We'll keep you posted if the Dev Team or iPhone hacking community release a solution to downgrade bootloader 5.09.
So stay tuned here at iPhone Hacks.

i just updated to beta 5 on my iphone 3g and am trying to jailbreak it via quickpwn. when i open quickpwn and click the arrow on the first screen, i get this error "unhandled exception has occurred in your application. if you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click quit the application will close immediately." how do i fix this?

hey so i downloaded ipsw 1,2 3.0.. now i know that the new version is due to be released in a week and it would be stupid to upgrade to beta 5 now, but i simply cannot wait anymore.. so if i upgrade to beta 5 now and then restore with the final version of 3.0 i should be fine?
any reply is appreciated.. i'm still having second thoughts about the beta 5 upgrade. -
did u have any trouble with the jailbreak.. and is the beta 5 buggy at all?

I have an unlocked and jailbroken iphone 2G. If I update to 3.0 now will my phone still be unlocked? I know i'll lose the jailbreak but what about the unlock? Thanks.
