Photo storage usage incorrect?

I deleted all photos on my iphone6 but it is still showing 157 photos and 2gb used. Photo sharing is turned off, backing up photos in Icloud is off and all related setting under "photo and camera" are disabled as well. I've synced it several times in iTunes and the storage usage is still showing 2gb used. Does anyone know how to truly clear out that storage?

Is it possible that they are still on the phone in the "Recently Deleted" folder? Things you delete stay there for 30 days unless you manually remove them a second time.
