IPhone wont charge

Hi
I tried looking for a solution to this problem and thought I would try here. My 4 year old IPhone will not accept the recharge but will work on the older IPhone which only is good for the radio sound on it and music. I tried the shutting it down with the apple logo thing and even had it off for 2 hours. I tried the Network Reset and that too was no good.
My next option I am thinking is to reset to factory settings before buying new IPhone.
Anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

Taking my IPhone in to cell repair shop. The guy said it was the port on the phone and it will be $65 to repair it. Alot better than spending $243 on refurbished IPhone or more for new one

It is also quite possible that your battery is dead, and you need to replace it.

Maybe your the USB cable has something gone wrong
