Cannot access my iPad Air 2...due to fingerprint not recognizing mine?

Hi I recently decided to use the fingerprint option for my iPad Air 2...it worked initially but now it doesn't...I'm not able to open my iPad at all...any assistance would be welcomed thx.

    What operating system is running on your iPad Air? In iOS 8.3, many users complain about Touch ID issues in the App Store on Reddit, Twitter and Apple's support communities. This issue appears on the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus as well as iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5s. You can try upgrade to the latest OS.
