Thanks iPhoneHacks for the great news. I may upgrade to the new iPhone 3G S after all, even thou I am not happy that I have to pay approximately £385 for cancelling rest of my contract and paying initial price fee to get another two years contract, but now I know with specs like that I will dream to afford buying an unlocked device as it is going to be twice expensive, so I can't complain anymore.
By the way, I guess you should do like most people and other blogs who are naming the new iPhone as 3GS, not 3G S, because if you search on google for iPhone 3G S you will get results related with 3G iPhone only, the space between 3G & S is making the first part of the search words as iPhone 3G while if you join then together as 3GS you will get unique results for the new iPhone.

On eBay they are calling it iPhone 3G(S). It is going to be also unique as long as there is no space between.

Is the new iPhone actually using a physically new processor? I have heard rumours that it is the same processor as the 3G, its just that the 3G's processor was 'underclocked' and 3GS' one is not underclocked.
Is this true?

i just upgraded the 8gb 3g last week, and when i heard about the price drop and new model i called immediately. apple said i can take the phone back and either get a credit or get the new phone on reserve or something like that. i wonder how long until it is jailbroken.

i want to be able to overclock my iphone 3g, i hear its been downclocked as a factory standard, the ipod touch has the same cpu but standard clocked

only apple could get away with bringing out a new model with (in my opinion) such insignificant upgrades (besides os3.0) and still sell a bajillion units... =P

apple is the phone who wake up other company to do something now nokia making struggling and other company too where they were before now the introducing 1ghz processor and 600mhz processor phones....
