My iPhone 6 is disabled (long story) and I have 8 months worth of pictures on it. I never backed up my phone and mistakenly thought it was being backed up on the cloud (Apple has confirmed it was not) Apple says they can reset my phone but I will lose all of my pictures OR that I need to have a 3rd party data recovery person get the pictures off my phone. The ones I've contacted have quoted me $400-1200 to get the pictures off my phone. I can't afford that and have to believe there is SOME WAY to reset my phone without losing my pictures OR recovering them before it is reset. Please help...

If your iPhone is disabled, there is no way to reset the iPhone without losing the pictures.
I also don't think apps mention in this article will help in case of a disabled iPhone:

How disabled it is? If it is water damaged or just screen broken, you can totally use a much more cheaper software to get back all your photos. You can google iMyfone data recovery and see how it works.

Can you turn on your iPhone? If no it is impossible to retrieve data without any backup.

It is unfortunate but true that if you can't start your iPhone, there is no way you can retrieve those pictures. However the third party you mentioned can help you to retrieve the data, but you mentioned you can't afford the cost.

Since you have no backup in iTunes or iCloud, and your iPhone is disabled, there is a slight possibility that you can reset your iPhone with no photo lost. All you can do is trying some iOS data recovery tools to scan your iPhone after reseting it. If the photos can be scanned, then they should be recovered. The two posts might be helpful:

To recover deleted data from iPhone is really easy with this iOS data recovery tool. It can scan your iPhone and find the data and recover whichever you want for you.

The best way to recover iphone deleted data is to use some data recovery software. You can use Coolmuster iPhone Data Recovery Software which is excellent recover software to recover deleted files.

iPad Mini users can any moment face data loss. And data lost could be due to any random reason such as accidental deletion, iPad damage, iPad reset, and obstruction during data transfer, etc.
But do not worry because all iPad have in-built backup file that’s generated by iTunes whenever it’s connected with PC. And hence you can easily restore text messages, notes, photos, calendars, contacts, chat history, videos and so on.
But if you lack backup then only option left with you is Wondershare Dr. Fone (Mac) data recovery software. This tool produces preview of all backup data and recover them competently even with or without using iTunes backup files. This software recovers data directly by scanning all the data in the iPad device. -
You still have chance to recover the deleted photos with special programs which is also costly.
-
It is a paid program. Please note that if you want to use a free one.Fbhhui said:The best way to recover iphone deleted data is to use some data recovery software. You can use Coolmuster iPhone Data Recovery Software which is excellent recover software to recover deleted files.

Under this circumstance that you have no backup available, the iPhone Data Recovery tool can indeed help you recover lost photos from dead iPhone 6. Try and preview their effect before restoration.Fbhhui said:The best way to recover iphone deleted data is to use some data recovery software. Some third party software really do a good job on iPhone data recovery, whether you have backup or not, just like the one I used recently: Gihosoft iPhone Data Recovery. It can scan your lost data directly from your dead iPhone 6, and then you can preview freely and recover what you need. It is a thing that iCloud/iTunes can't do without backup files.
