Consolidating messages.

I have an iPad Air 2 wifi only. I have Parkinson's and am house-bound so did not buy the cellular version. I have come to rely on the iMessage tool but found I have to use my Galaxy phone for SMS text. This makes it very difficult for me and I need to know the best way to fix this problem.
