Charging Apple iPhone 6 case not working with jailbroken phone

I recently purchased the apple branded iPhone 6 case that charges your phone and every time I put my phone in the case a message pops up saying "this accessory is not supported by this device". My iPhone is on iOS 8.3 and jailbroken and I am wondering if anybody else has had a similar problem. Tried the case with a friends iPhone and it worked fine. Will I have to update my phone and take the jailbreak off for the case to work?
