How to Use Google Voice on your iPhone
If you have an iPhone and a Google Voice account and were disappointed with Apple's decision to reject all Google Voice related iPhone apps then you will be happy to know that you still have couple of options to use Google Voice on your iPhone. If you have not jailbroken...

I've been using GV Mobile and love it...props to Sean Kovacs ;)

It would be great to get some Push notifications on this thing for SMS and Voicemail.

Google Voice rocks...
Especially when you add your GV number as one of your MyFaves on T-Mobile.... it allows for unlimited calling (incoming, and outgoing)!!!
Definitely WELL worth the wait for the invitation!!!
-
@Rajdn you can only get an invite from google. Go to the google voice page and put in your info. I got mine 24hrs after I did which was on Tuesday and I'm loving it.

Free texting FTW! GV Mobile rocks!
-
Now if only the push services would work - That would make this even better!
-
I got the email invitation from Google already. But unfortunately the service is not available in the UK yet. What a waste :(

I am confused, does this mean that I can call contacts on my google list for free via WiFi? I am not sure what the point is if you can't.
I mean I love GV for the "One Call rings multi-number thing" but what is the big deal of having the app on your iPhone.
-
I rather just export all my contacts form Outlook, import it on Google's Voice Contact List and then open Safari on my iPhone to go to https://www.google.com/voice/m.
Same thing as proposed with almost all features of GV.

I have a GV account, still pretty confused when using GV does it use your cellular minutes?
-
can someone send me an invite at tftf20@aol.com? Would really appreciate it thanks.
-
can someone send an invite to quiquiyoso@hotmail.com
thank you in advance. only been waiting 6 mos for google to invite me.

Yes it does assuming your carrier charges for incoming calls. Here's how it works. When using the GV Mobile application you use either your wireless or 3G/Edge network to tell Google what # to call. At that point Google voice calls your iphone, then calls the party you want to talk to and bridges the call.
If you placed the call with your cell phone folks at other end see your cell #, by using GV for iphone all of them will now see your Google Voice #.

OMG GOOGLE HAS TO INVITE YOU. RTFM Retards. Nobody else has this power. You are so stupid.

Another way of using Google voice would be to create a contact in the phone number put your Google voice number, then put a pause, then the number 2, then another pause, then your pin to your Google voice account, then put a pause again, then the number of your contact, then the #. This works, because Google allow you to call your own number and you can select the 2 option which is to call another number. The only down fall is that you have your pin in the number so if some got a hold of your phone they could see it. You cannot text them with this number, but to get around this you can add another phone number with the cell number in the same contact and use that number to Text.

You have to ask Google for the invite, Silly.

You can go online, on google voice and disable the pin option for your line. This allows you to call everyone in your contact without any modifications. Google voice will insert the 2 and the number you are calling, you will have to hit the # at the end or just wait and the call will connect, the whole thing takes about 20-25 seconds.
Does anyone know if my google voice number is not forwarding to my mobile number does it still use my mobile minutes.
