How is it disabled? icloud/blocked on network etc?

It is pass code locked.A friend gave me the phone and
a pass code that was incorrect. I tried to restore it through itunes but the power button stopped working.I replaced the power button and it still dosen't respond. I tried a couple more variations of the pass code and now it is disabled. The phone hasn't been used for three years or so. Any suggestions?
