iOS Security in Safe Mode

Hey all, i've had this random question on my mind that I have faith the users here can answer. I am jailbroken on 9.2.1, but it's a half jailbreak because for some reason I cannot open Cydia, though my currently installed tweaks all work fine, despite not being able to update them. So I am awaiting a new jailbreak to bring my Cydia back to full functionality.
That said, i've been having many security concerns, where my phone runs super hot, the phone lags and stutters, and issues where the screen will randomly light up. Because of my involvement within humanitarian activism, I am pretty sure that my phone is being monitored. That said, my simple question is: is it MORE or LESS safe for the iphone to be in SAFE MODE, from a security standpoint?
