Activation Lock Bypass?

I am extremely new to the Apple community, I just have a lot more experience working with Android. However, I come to you today to ask for some help with this iPhone 5. It IS Activation locked, and I do believe it is on iOS 10.something, I can't entirely tell you because I can't access the damn thing. It does say press home button to unlock, so that is why I do believe it is iOS 10. I am willing to do anything, including jailbreak, to get this thing unlocked, and working like perfect. Please note I am huge noob, so I am gonna need some step by step instructions.
