ok, i'm an genuine at&t user, so i dont mind if i upgrade my baseband, is any way just to jailbreak it so i can download ****..? because i dont have my iphone "unlocked"

Hopefully you can. Thats all I want to do as well. I am not in need of unlocking. I actually already upgraded to 3.1 so there better be a way to do it even if you have already upgraded. I guess we will see.

PwnageTool has always been available only for Mac users.
Dev Team had released RedSn0w for Windows and Mac users to jailbreak iPhone
OS 3.0. But that was because they didn't have to worry about preserving the
baseband shipped with iPhone OS 3.0 as they had figured out a way to unlock
it.So guess Windows users will have to wait for updated version of RedSn0w for
iPhone OS 3.1 or use to friend's Mac when PwnageTool for iPhone OS 3.1 is
available. -
I have a 3GS, iTunes 8.2, firmware 3.0.1 and can't jailbreak! Redsn0w freezes on "Waiting to reboot". I tried unplugging the USB cable and it didn't work.
Please help! -
If you are using Windows Vista, you need to change your compatibility settings to windows xp sp2 and run as administrator. That should solve your problem but is you are using windows xp and have this problem then I'm not sure.... I have a 3gs as well and when I jailbreak my phone in vista that is what I need to do or I get the same problem.

Yes you will be able to jailbreak if you have already upgraded to 3.1. The only thing you wouldn't be able to do is unlock it because it updated the baseband, and its like impossible or really hard to down grade that.

I have a 3G iphone and updated unconsciously to 3.1, and now my iphone's dead... can i do something?

Unplug the USB cable, wait for the screen to turn white then plug the cable backing still with RedSn0w running.
OR
Reboot windows in normal or in safe mode and try again.
I done one today but running Vista. -
yes, try going through the steps to put your phone in DFU mode. I bricked my iPhone 3G and my friends 2G and both times this method worked. if you type in Iphone DFU mode into youtube something should pop up. Best of Luck.

Just curious why a jailbreaker purposely upgraded to 3.1? Was there some 3.1 feature that you needed so bad that you would ruin your jailbreak for say up to two weeks?

i have iphone 3GS 32g unlocked it myself and then restored the settings from my earlier iphone 3G through itune. i.e. all application that i had on my 3G are now on 3GS.
If I restore through itunes again, will it delete all application on 3GS & settings ? will it upgrade to 3.1 also ?

i have an ipone 3g and cant restore and im not reall clear about the whole restore to 3.0 can i do it? i didnt see the the warnig that the dev team made to all of us and i fck up and then i read that i can restore it but then i tried to restore it and now it tells me that the file is not compatible.. please some one help me!!!!!

I have JAilbreak,Unlock 3GS Iphone with 3.0.1 Firmware,
I by mistake click on update for 3.1 and now while recovering it is giivng error (An unknown error has occoured 14) and is now in DFU mode.Please suggest on the issue.

Bought the unlocked 3G on Wednesday, flew home on a 13-hour flight on Thursday, plugged it in to recharge via iTunes late Thursday evening and BAM. Upgraded, locked out except for emergency calls - nice. Downgraded the OS, struggled with Cydia for a while, installed yellowsn0w, finally got the phone working again with the exception of actually unlocking it. It was upgraded to 05.11.07 and from what I've been reading this is my problem -- does anyone know if the Dev Team is working on this problem specifically or I did I just buy a really expensive paperweight?
