Baseband 05.11.07 that came bundled with iPhone OS 3.1 cannot be unlocked as of now.

PwnageTool 3.1.3 has been released, looks like these files are not required, all you need is a iPhone 3GS that was jailbroken/pwned earlier:

i too have the same concern can we hope and pray that the fantastic dev team will endevour and devout their precious time in creating a magic software that will unlock the 3.1 3gs

man 3GS worked great till i burgered it up with downloading unreliable sources now permenatly locked pls help dev team il pay £10 towards ..sure thyl be many thousands out there

I have a 3GS that came with OS 3.0. I want to jailbreak it and unlock it for the first time (I just moved out of the US so I really need it to use the phone) but if Apple wants to force me to update it to 3.1 at the same time I restore it. I understand that this new version released yesterday won't help me either since my phone was not jailbroken previously.
Am I missing something here or am I screwed? Any idea of when you'll be able to release a tool that jaibreaks 3GS 3.1 not previously jailbroken? Thanks! -

Wouldn't it be great if muppets like menace had one of those iPhones that exploded? Hopefully next to his ear (No Warranty on JB iPhones lol)
Good luck with your search tho, if you do discover a way from another hacker, please try it first then go honking at them for bricking your device, not the guys who put time and effort into:
a) making JB possible
b) making JB for free
c) reporting of the above developments to the community for free (IPH)Why not trade your windows pc in and go buy a Mac instead??

i accidently upgrade my 3.0 to 3.1 i use the new pwnagetool to jailbreak n i use the 3.1 restore tool but didn't work can some one help me please can u guys give me the link to it n help me ouy here please......

I had an iphone that I had Jailbroken and was working fine.
I went through the newly released jailbreak process to upgrade to 3.1 and it seemed to work, but I still didn't have MMS. I tried to add MMS and lost network connection. Couldn't do anything to get it back and after playing with it more, I got stuck at the "pineapple screen". Couldn't do anything..
I tried getting into DFW mode and reloading the ROM that was created before and got an error. So, I was basically sitting with a brick..
I decided to suck it up and just do a standard restore which gave me 3.1 - obviously non-jailbroken... Sucks..
Now I guess I just need to patiently hope and wait for them to come out with a release to jailbreak the 3.1 phones.
Is it on the agenda? What's the best guess as to when it'll be out?
