really interesting... imagine this device holding all your credit card info, and even the technology to act as a transponder for keyless start on vehicles. I wonder how far apple will go to make their products always stay ahead of the competition.

Very oldd. This system is in place for most phones in Japan.

I could see this technology really working in a library environment. RFID has been around in libraries for a while now, it would be fantastic for patrons to be able to check out items on their phone rather than line up at a self checkout station or customer service counter. I would want to see it implemented in all smart phones though. I have an iphone, we don't get along so well at times lol.
