Thats due to the fact that windows is a monopoly and forced on peoples computers, an example is bestbuy laptops that already have windows 7 installed. Just because they are the default operating system doesn't mean they are making money because of a good reason. Windows 7 was highly rejected by the tech community and still is to this day.

That's a flat out lie, what tech community do you take part in? No **** the linux community doesn't use Windows 7. But big business does. And that's who has the buying power. Not 40 year olds in their mum's basements.

Your statement doesn't really hold much water. If we are talking about Jobs vs. Gates and Apple vs. Microsoft you have to look at it like this. Mac OS comes with Apple computers and Windows normally comes with PCs. People who buy a Mac are not having Windows forced on them. Yes PCs from Best Buy come with Windows 7. If someone thinks that OSX and Apple are better then they are free to buy an Apple with you guessed it... MAC OSX. So forget about the OS in this argument. The real battle comes down to the hardware. PC or MAC. If someone buys a PC and doesn't want windows, they can easily install another OS. But lets face it, most people just want Windows.

I personally dont think that Windows or Mac OS are going anywhere. We all need Windows, the business world would not be able to operate without it. We all need Mac OS, a lot of the arts rely on it. (i.e. anything visually appealing would be difficult to come by). everyone has their own opinion on which one is better, personally i find a lot more usability in Windows, but I do use the Mac OS for a few hard to come by applications. Another thing that kinda pisses me off is that most people associate Windows with bad hardware. Most of the time Windows will malfunction because you have a shitty system that doesn't meet the requirements of the operating system. This does give apple an edge because they control what hardware goes into there machines. But think about how much more flexible Windows has to be to supports all of the different PC manufacturers. Hopefully that will give you closed minded people something to think about. Mac OS and Windows are both great operating systems.
p.s. lets not leave out the little guys, i like linux too!

Back to the subject at hand, i agree with GATES. My opinon has nothing to do with the rivalry between microsoft and apple, i just dont see the revelation, Steve tries to dog down netbooks, but the ipad doesn't even run flash!!!!
(and steves best reason behind that was that ADOBE FLASH was too buggy!!!)

nor can i run quickbooks and create an invoice on the spot with this ipad (Main Function of MY NETBOOK), for gods sake, not even a WEBCAM!!!!!!
(MY 199.99 NETBOOK HAS A WEBCAM!!!!!!)
To me, for a product thats supposed to dog down netbooks, it sure limits me as to what i can and cannot do.
In the end!!! not impressed whatsoever... i already have an iphone 3gs, why do i need an oversized ipod touch. What i need is a full capable working PC with full OS!!!!!
To Me Personally, this would never replace my laptop much less my netbook.
IN THE END, THIS IS JUST A COMPANY STRATEGY IN WHICH PROFITS COMES FIRST, HAVE TO HOLD BACK ON MANY FEATURES ON THE FIRST INICIAL RELEASE SO NEXT YEAR THE COMPANY HAS OPTIONS AS TO CREATING THE NEXT VERSION aka GEN!!!!

IT TAKES PATIENCE, BUT YOU GET TO SAVE A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY, AND IN RETURN, YOU GET TO HAVE A MORE REFINED STABLE PRODUCT AS WELL!!!!

This is the First iPad, look at the first iPhone, sooo much missing in comparison with the 3G(s) which is what we are comparing it too. Give it a few years and the bits will be added along the way.
To my mind, people are comparing it alongside the Wrong products, to me it's a Book Reader with add-ons. I believe it was designed as such in it's infancy (on paper) to outdo Kindle and Sony bookreaders. Ok, it can run apps & video, be used as a sort of office, the 3G models are in effect, built in mobile broadband. But at it's heart, still a limited book reader.
Give it a few more updates over a few years and it'll (hopefully) step up in the fashion of iPhone mk1 to iPhone 3Gsoh, I do also believe that Apple/Jobs left the mobile phone circuitry out to save "Giant iPhone" jibes (Giant iPod, well done Steve haha)

I agree with Gates... ipad did not impress me.. at all...
- no flash (Job says its buggy!! let me ask, why did they had Safari in iphone earlier which was buggy and used to crash all the time..?? haha just because its their own buggy app?)
- no webcam (deal breaker for the price)
- no unique design (we know how iphone looks, we know how ipod looks,, but ipad does not have its own design... its just one big itouch/iphone)
- small, with no base to keep on during typing... (remember the ipad launch video... Steve was struggling to keep the product on his lap.. i am sure big guy like me.. keeping it on the lap would be next to impossible)
- huge screen compared to iphone but still there are only 4 app icons each line... (dumb and waste of space)
- No way to create folders and organize your docs... (it does not give me the ultimate browsing experience if i cannot save images/files from web or email to OS.. simply useless... i would rather keep Mac/PC even there is no touch screen)
- no multitasking (how to listen to music and work on iWork? And if i want to change songs.. i need to get out and change the song and then rerun the app !!! too difficult)
- many ppl will agree on this.. we browse 3-4 pages simultaneously... gather data together from different pages while few other pages are loading!! Now you cannot do it... simply cannot... as you leave the page to another page.. it just stops to load!! Dumb browsing experience...
