Uhm, how bout just double tap a paragraph? Im on the 3gs..
-
For real...u guys are living in the stone age...quadrupawhat? LOL
-
Double tapping does not highlight the whole paragraph dumbass .... Quadruple tapping it does
Double tapping highlights the word you tap
-
Nope they're right. On 3gs you only need to double tap.
-
It takes 3 taps on my 3gs...
-
Dumbass....3gs u only need to double tap. Dumbass.
-
On my 3GS (in the Mail app) the right way to do this appears to be double-tap and drag (to the end of the paragraph.
Quadruple tapping does nothing. Double tapping selects a word.
-
Takes 4 on my 3gs lol
-
Checked, 4 taps selects the whole paragraph... or you can tap quickly only one time whith two fingers on the paragraph and it is selected, just try...
-
Troll, you're not only ugly ... you're a retard! 3GS only needs 2 not 4 taps!
-
im on 3gs and yh it works. when you are typing a txt message to highlight the whole paragraph, 4 taps will do the trick. 2 taps will highlight the word you are taping on.
-
Gungun has the correct answer! Quick Quad tap works but not that easy. 2 finger tap works every time, very easy. Maybe the dumbasses above are confusing double taps (select word) with a 2 finger tap (select paragraph).
-
iPhone hacks can u please post a video on it instead.....
Coz it's too confusing Quadruple didn't worked nothing on my 3gs 3.1.2 ....
Instead I have been using double tap ... Or just holding on the text and pulling out the corner as required ..... If you could put a video on it , I believe it would be much easier for us yk understand ..... -
Rather than selecting to delete stuff in the reply, if you select just the text you want to quote, BEFORE you reply, only the selected text is included in your reply.
-
Good one. I'm trying that one. Very much needed.
-
it seems ppl are not entirely comprehending the quote by macosxhints. it says "...when entering text..."
for instance..typing an email, replying to an email, typing a text message, typing in 'notes', and such.
not while viewing a web page or viewing email. during these instances, if u double tap, it just selects the word..and quad-tap does nothing.
but if u quad-tap while "typing" or editing text, it will select the entire paragraph. it seems 2-finger tapping once also does the trick. -
hey you_retard.. U r a retard. check b4 u spec ulate
-
iphone expert..u r no expert. just terrible..u shoulda used "I don't pay attention to text written above"
-
Anything over 3 taps activates QuickScroll for me
Still prefer double tap or tap n hold then select.
Saying that, I delete most of my emails before Reading them, if it's important, they can come tell me in person -
lol, I want in on the name calling! Actually just here to mention I tried this on my 3GS. Two taps highlights one word only, four taps highlights the entire paragraph. Maybe you are misreading. This is when you are entering text, not reading it.

THIS SITE IS TURNING INTO DOUCHEBAG SITE , TOO MANY IDIOTS, MORONS AND IGNORANT PEOPLE!!!!
-
I LOVE WRITING IN ALL CAPZ!!!
-
Yeah, two finger tap and quad tap works. 3GS
-
2-finger tapping once seems to be the most consistent for me on the 3G.
Working both in Edit mode or Read mode.
Oh yeah? You are ALL fools!! There.
-
So really either way, you need the equivalent of four taps... I find the single finger quad tap conveinant for sentences, the two finger double tap for bigger chunks of text. Like they said must be done while in type mode. Gah grow up geniuses. I'm sure name calling is releasing that pent up testosterone you got going on. Do the phone dudes need some love in their life. Lmao

double tapping selects the whole paragraph. Tested on a 3g in text message app.
