nice future but i m still waiting for 3.1.3 jailbroek and unlock why geohot and devteam doesnt relase the tool
-
i think they were bluffing to be honest

Yes you can Edit and select multiple messages to archive. Also if you turn the Archive feature on in the settings using the Trash icon archives mail as well - there is no delete unless you manually move it to the trash OR turn Archive off in the settings. It does not do this on the Exchange settings as it doesn't know it is a G-Mail account.

Because odd are that Apple released 3.1.3 for no other reason that to break the current jailbreak methods and maybe flush out new ones prior to OS4 being released. I would not expect a jailbreak/unlock until after OS4 is releases and then, more likely, after the new iPhone is released to the public...

So they're infringing on Google's IP? is that what I read?

Thanks a ton Bill, updated the post with the information you have provided. Appreciate it!

Well keep waiting. If I was on 3.1.3 still, which gladly I'm not then I'd be waiting patiently at least for 4.0 to be released for a jb.
I think the majority of 3.1.3 users must realise this by now.. -
We'll keep you posted if we have any further updates on jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.1.3.
Lets keep the comments relevant to the topic until then.
Thanks!

Iphone hacks, say if you got X ammount of new emails, and whatever many were from the same person.. if you click a message it'll pull up a new window with only the messages from the person you clicked : ) very helpfull!
-
you should bring up that you cannot backup your iphone with 4.0 and maybe ffigure out a way around this : )

Using GMail with Exchange, "deleting" is archiving already.. At least for me.. And I really can't send to trash, only archive, really annoying.

I am using Ipod and Gmail. This is such a good new for me. Also it is a small change but means a lot.

The GMail Archive feature was first mentioned by me in iphonehellas.gr here:
iPhone OS 4 New Findings Part 2 #12

Also, in Beta 2, there is an option to disable Archiving via Gmail Settings!!!

And if you have the SDK, the screenshots are ok! ;-)

You can already archive gmail messages like that on current iPhone software. As long as you set up your Gmail account as an 'Other' account rather than using the built-in 'Gmail' option, both the swipe-delete and trash icon perform an "archive" rather than a "move to trash."
