I just feel like this is a step backwards. Sure, it is more powerful, but the iphone is the best on the market right now. Does it really need a new body if it is so popular already because of its sleek look? If you have a winning formula, don't change it to taste like the others (the iphones design looks and will probably feel like other phones like the instinct!)

I think it's a matter of preference. I've grown to love the design and form factor of the iphone 3g and 3gs. When I first saw this new iphone, I hated it. But now as I look at it more and more, it starts to become more appealing. I actually like it now.

Hasn't grown on me yet. I still find it less than appealing. And I suspect it wont be too comfortable to hold during long phone calls, sort of like a holding a deck of cards.

The current gen iphone is certainly not perfect, from an ergonomics perspective.
The absence of the flat back in the 3G phones meant you couldn't set it down and touch it without it jiggling all over. The current back+edges make it slippery, as well. And the silver rim was always ugly.
A glass back means they can hide a lot of stuff behind the glass, like a lens, LED flash, LED receiver, etc, without having to "break the surface", so it's a good idea.
I still hate having to drag Apple's dumb-ass proprietary connector along. What is this, the 80's again?
Aren't they required by the EU to have a mini USB charger connector?

16GB? i thought they gonna move up to 32GB and 62GB
