I've noticed this too. I'm eligible for an upgrade after a year of purchasing my iPhone in July '10, instead of 2. My second line (iPhone bought on Oct. '10) isn't eligable until June '11 though.

I when I got the 3G the day it came out I had an upgrade then the next year I got the 3GS the day it came out and I had an upgrade, they do that every year. But on the second lines they do not only on the primary line. Ive talked to AT&T about this.

Mine too and it said now already qualify for the upgrade since the contract up till Oct 2010.

it probably changes for people that got the phone on day one? Or around that time? If you recently got an iphone,
i don't think they will let you upgrade too soon, lets say less than 10-12 months. -
