Can't blame them for trying. Without companies that are willing to take risks on new ideas, we'd be stuck with the same products forever without new innovations.
This idea may or may not work, but it'll definitely lead to other ideas in the future. I never liked putting a case on my iphone so this wouldn't be something that I'd use, but say if they somehow packaged it built into a future iphone model, then they'd be onto something.

in Japan this feature is built into the phone and nothing is needed from the user end just swipe and go. it's amazing and i works in stores and vending machines and well everywhere.
