Not a good idea. And it is not a good idea to replace the "Google Maps"-app either.

I think it will be very interesting if apple goes with bing which window 7 will be using. I'm sure Steve and his ppl will make sure bing works wonders on the iPhone. But isn't google better then bing. Apple just make your own search engine And get it over with. As for apple making there own map app or what ever u want to call it. I think they will do a great job on it.

Bing sucks big time
-
bing sucks, I want a search engine thats ridiculously fast, like google, and comprehensive....like google. oh, problem solved then!

Bing gives terribly inaccurate search results compared even to Yahoo, let alone Google. There had better be a way, jailbreak or not, to change the default search provider back to Google if this romor is, in fact, true.

Bing is pathetic...undoubtedly. im sure they will give us a choice, with the "default" being bing. so im freaking switching to google.

No thank you to Microsoft's Bung search engine. Going after the rear end of the available search engines would be bad.
Apple has cored enough of a hole in the world without resorting to bung-ing users by opening privacy holes through Microsoft.

i think anyone who bases their decision to buy a phone soly on which search provider is used has a few screws loose.
Seriously I couldn't care less who is used for search I dont even notice, I just want the function available and to work.
As for MAPs thats a worry as I use it a lot but again as long as I can still navigate and find stuff I dont realy care who they use. -
I agree.
Plus, if Bing is the default search engine you can just download the free Google app. Voila.
See how easy that is moaners?

You can always change the search engine on the iPhone. Always have and most likely still will.

It will be a great move! Bing is better than Google - thats why Google steals ideas from Bing!
