I'm definitely excited about Apple's next big thing, I'm in the UK and I already own an iPhone 3gs with O2 on contract! Today I recieved an email detailing the options available on how to get your upgrade and I must say they are pretty reasonable and I will be placing my order!
My only fear is a release of an iPhone 4g in the next 6 months having spent a small reasonable fortune on this baby but I can't think of what else they could possibly add to make this phone better!

Apple usually releases a new version of the iPhone every year so the chances of iPhone 4g in six months are remote.

I'll definitely be upgrading from my current 3G! I'm not happy to still be stuck with crappy AT&T service for another 2 years but it's great that they moved up my discount eligibility so I can get the new iPhone now.

I think you'll be set for quite a while with the iPhone 4, I imagine that next years updates will be more akin to performance and technical aspects. I too couldn't possibly imagine how they could make this any better!

If ATT's netwroks weren't so overloaded I wouldn't think twice about going back to ATT. But I rather wait for an unlock for the iphone 4, and get it with t-mobile

I can. Make it better by having 64 GB storage, more RAM, full Bluetooth support, better battery, HDMI out, support for different US carriers.
(For those who are quick at making judgement, I'm just pointing out that there's room for improvement.)

I gotta say that's about the only complaint I've had with iphones. Please make the speaker phone louder!

There's always gonna be room for improvement. It boils down to how much it'll cost and how long it'll take and whether it can even be done. It'd be alot better if they made the screen project out into thin air (no wall required) like verizon's "there's a map for that" commercials.
HDMI is good for 1080p video if and when that becomes available on the iphone. For now, at 720p you can use regular iphone component cables to output 720p hd video to your tv.

I forgot to add that component cables can output up to 1080i in case some people didn't know.

Is it easy to chop my existing sim down to a micro sim sized one? If I get an ip4 and providing it's poss via jb and unlock I'll want to use my T mobile(uk) sim.
Also, will my current apps sync over from my iTunes to the new iPhone? -
I am placing my order on 15th June. Waiting to upgrade my current iphone with this one and upgrade the service contract to BSNL 3G, the only 3G service provider in India.

I just rang tmobile customer services, and they are adamant that they will be supporting iPhone 4 as soon as apple launch it in the uk, is this true??
I thought it was o2 orange and crappy vodaphone that were getting it?? -
