Wassup with Apple telling me I have to reserve an iPhone! I want to pre-order the sucker not go into the store. I've been with ATT forever, also not on contract for a long time. In fact I'm on the original Blue/mMode plan around 2001 before Cingular bought them out. Fricken ridiculous that ATT long-time customers who pay their bills on time and stay loyal are having to deal with such a hassle.

After struggling with Apple site for two hours, went to att.com and ordered without a hitch.

It has worked fine for me the whole time, but now it is stuck trying to load the page to enter my credit card information. Now the server crashed and I had to restart but now it won't let me select the iPhone 4 as an option. This is on the AT&T site.

Its funny smses are so expensive in US. In Singapore free incoming messages is like a must, the cheapest most basic plans gets 500 free outgoing messages. (US$0.03 for each extra message) Students get unlimited outgoing messages. All these for around US$15 =)

I'm currently in the United States and have been trying to pre-order the Iphone 4 for an hour. When I attempt to check my eligibility ( done several times) I am prompted that my session has timed out. I tried calling apple and a automated message says they are currently flooded with callers and are unable to take any more. The AT & T site is down for "maintenance". All this information is applicable to the time of this post.

I pre-ordered the amount of 5 million black iphones 4 with 32Gb directly with Apple, waved at them with my amex black card....guess what happend. They will be delivered no earlier than May, 2011. How you like them apples!??

Reading the "new" features of IPhone 4 confirmed me in my opinion: iphone is a nice gadget with proprietary functions. The interfaces to the rest of the it-world are mostly inoperable. Jobs message: Take it or leave it.

I'm still trying to preorder. Both att and apple's sites timed out during check out. I'll try again in an hr or so. It looks like everyone's hitting their sites now, so it's slammed pretty hard.

I went to Apple Store to order and their system uses the same web based system through apple.com. FAIL.

I was able to get my reservation setup through the Apple Store app on my iPhone. Took me all of 20 seconds and it show's that everything is setup for Thursday and mine is reserved until the end of the day. :) Just wish I could have prepaid for it or something

i had to get mine from att.com website but through my iPad. for some reason it showed iphone 4 on ipad but not on my mac (att.com on my mac only showed 3gs models as option to upgrade). I was apple to pre-order 3 lines :) at around 2a.m. CANT WAIT TIL THEY ARRIVE!!!

ordered 32GB via At&T site around 4AM PST at that time website was going pretty smooth.

UPDATE: You can pre-order with Best Buy, you have to do a store walk in, just got mine an hour ago at the Best Buy on Fordham Road in the Bronx.

Just preordered black 16gb at Best Buy Mobile. $50.00 deposit (gift card purchase). Picking it up the morn. of the 24th. The rep says they will be offering bundle packages as well. We will see what thats all about. Looks like they were offering all models but once again we will see.

You're looking at $600 for the 16GB and $700 for the 32GB, they still come with sim cards and they are smaller than the older sim cards. You'd have to check with an outside source to see if they carry that cards with the size specs.
