iPhone 4 Customers Can Now Call Apple's Toll-Free Number To Try Out FaceTime
Just got your shiny new iPhone 4 and desperately looking for someone who has bought one too so that you can try out FaceTime, one of the most talked about features in Apple's new iPhone 4? No problem, as Apple has provided a toll-free number, which iPhone 4 customers can...

so where is the option for Uk users?
-
Ha ha! ''Lonely? Got no friends? Call Apple, we'll talk to you!''
-
you know why facetime is wifi only, because of the issue with touching the sides of the phone killing the signal, you hold it differently when using facetime
-
haha...
-
Not exactly, good job trying to read between the lines there guy, but it is because the AT&T 3G network can't afford to have 600,000 people streaming high quality videos.
-
duh, plus i highly doubt 3g has nearly enough bandwidth for comfortable video chat.
-
the number is wrong.

iPhone Hacks u have a error the number is 1888Facetime- 188832238463

Is there a way to export hd video to youtube from the iphone 4? My first try did not go through as 720?
-
FaceTime is frickin Gay! Every time Apple comes out with a cool feature they have to restrict it some way to make it a mostly useless feature. You can only use FaceTime with someone else that has an iPhone 4 and they have to be on wifi. Wow! Most people will get to use FaceTime once or twice a month. Way to go Apple!
-
Pics or gtfo then! lol
-
Apparently its down to youtube servers only recognizing the iphone 4 as a normal phone so wont upload 720, but it should be rectified soon.
Although i havent looked at imovie... -
thats just crap. maybe an issue for usa networks but we've had video calling on mobiles for years in the uk, the feature just failed cos no one wants or cares about video calling.
drains battery, everyone hears your conversation and most conversations just dont require you to be staring at someones face.plus i usually makes when out and about, cant really walk around town staring at a mobile, end up walking into things.

Is fring up on the app store yet with Vid chat? The fring devs said that they are porting the app for Vid chat. I have the Evo and my cuzo has the iPhone4 witch would be great to Vid call each other.
-
Well with FaceTime being Open Source, other devices will soon be able to utilize face time.
-
It COULD work... but it would drain battery and our network traffic is a lot higher than the UK. And the video on the iphone is high quality. Not some shitty Nokia phone that has the video chat feature but its so ghetto no one uses it.
-
Thanks...What is the purpose of hd if you cant output it hd? Im a newbie so I may be completely wrong about this.
-
i somewhat doubt that usa has higher traffic.
the is more people in london than the whole of california, thats alot of people in a small area cramming to a few cell towers. usa is spread out and would seperate the traffic across alot more cell towers.the video quality was good on most phones, i cant speak for nokia, never used it, even tho i had an N70. our 3g network gets up to 8mb, similar speed to average broadband so the picture quality should match wifi
we had a network that dedicated itself to video calling (3 network) it failed so they just focused on normal phones.
could also video chat between different mobiles on 3g.
it failed simple cos no one wanted or cared about it. think the only time the front facin cameras get used now is self photos or using it as a mirror.
people just didnt care about looking at the face, you phone someone to talk, not stare at em.dont get me wrong i like the iphone, got a 3gs and will prob get the next iphone (not 4) but the 4gs or whatever they call the tuned up iphone 4. just vid calling has been a failed feature in the uk for years and i doubt apple will change that opinion.

sweet!!, nice one! :)

question...if you get the phone unlocked and use it with a different carrier, can you still use facetime?
