The iPhone 4 has to be more than 31% faster than the iPhone 3GS. Pinch to zoom is much more fluid, apps open faster, and the camera app is faster. Given that there are 4 times as many pixels to render, I would think only having a 31% increase in speed would show a bunch of lag. They did double the memory to 512 MB but since no iphones use virtual memory, I don't see how having more RAM would really speed things up that much. Of

I went from a 3G to a 4 and it is much, much faster. Some of my apps that took 20 seconds to load now are almost instantaneous. It's like night and day. I love the thing.
One of my co-workers has a 3GS and we were loading web pages at the same time to see the speed. ~30% faster seems about right.

With all the ordering problems on the first day, I bet there are a lot of phones that won't be picked up because people ordered more phones than they really wanted either as insurance, or because the order system wasn't confirming every order that was placed.

I also went from 3G to iPhone 4 and it is like night and day. Very fast response and web pages load very fast. I'm blown away.
Also I'm not having the lost signal problem and I've been on the web most of the day holding the phone all the time. I called AT&T yesterday to make sure I still had my unlimited data and there was a message saying they were having problems with the wireless
service in the Orland, Fl area.
So that maybe why some of us were having signal problems. -

I like except for the horrible reception! Apple fucked up on this one guys, the antenna shorts out and drops calls when you hold it without a case on it. I went to the apple store and they said there is nothing they can do at this point! All the prototypes didnt show this problem? What a bunch of crap! I am so mad! Its the best phone ever but once again cant keep calls. This time Apple's design flaw. I see a recall on this one.

I cannot believe all the idiots in line today at the SoHo store. The line was over a block long all day and last time I saw around nine it was even longer than in the afternoon. It's a phone for FFS.

hey does anyone think the reason that the processor speed of the iphone 4 is shown as 0 because the processor underclocks automatically when the processor use is low. That could be the reson for the varied results. Its the same case with intel i7 and i5 processors

how come the benchmark on the 3GS is on 10% battery with bluetooth enabled but the 4G has no bluetooth enabled and on AC power.
Doesnt seem a fair test...
