vis-a-vis isnt a word
-
yea, me neither
but imagine holding it for like 10 minutes, or even several hours (even partially rested on something, just holding it at an angle) -
Right, it's a phrase - your point?

I totally agree reading those kind of stuff on a PC sucks.. a lot. However, I think the Ipad brings a very nice and smooth way to do it. I wouldn't choose it for myself thou. I find myself more concentrated when I read from a printed book.. but that may be jsut me..

Printed books way better than e-books in my opinion...

yah for real

i like e-books better, both on the kindle and the ipad (i read them faster, no pages to turn, can adjust text size). The weight is comparable to a hardback of moderate thickness for both, though the kindle is lighter, all 3 are easy to prop and you dont have to worry about pages turning on accident like in a book. kindle is best outside, and ipad is best in.

I downloaded the printed books reader last week. Feel pretty good

I think it's great to read on. And especially pictures, thats the best. I got 5500 pics and 90 faces and it looks awesome. And as with books just swiping through a hundred or thousand pics at a few seconds tops it all.

I find it easier to read and retain the information off an Ipad more so than printed paper, and by far better then a pc monitor. However i really wished there was an anti-glare screen on the Ipad.

iPad rules. No piles of books, Can carry hundreds with you, can look up words, save bookmarks, and use evinced indices etc
Printed books are dinosaurs but will miss collecting first editions.... Maybe

How long does it take to read a short story by Hemingway, 30 minutes? But how about a 1000 page book? The apple screen is just a pc screen, rather read a big book on a e-ink device.....

Listen complainers, you all claim the iPad's weight is a problem when reading with it for several hours. Who sits around for hours reading anything? If anything, the majority of people read for short periods of time. So my point is, it's a luxury to sit around and read--especially with an iPad--so quit complaining and start paying your taxes so I can retire and read with my iPad for hours.
