Analyst Claims 50% Chance Of A Free In-Store Fix For iPhone 4 Reception Problems
As you may have already heard by now, Apple is holding a special press conference on Friday morning to discuss the new iPhone's widely publicized antenna signal reception issue. While there is no word about the potential solution that Apple may have come up with, industry observers have been speculating...

interesting choices i think most people would go for an instore fix and keep their phone
-
So does mean that all the iphone that will be release will have a non-cobductive coating on it?
-
That's been speculated but we know how analysts can get it call wrong.
-
regarding free bumper cases, the "analyst" claims:
"...The financial implications are relatively lower at $180 million..."
lets say there are 3 million iPhone 4 users.
if we talk about cost:a bumper cannot cost more than a couple of bucks to manufacture, but lets say it costs $5 with all the overheads involved. that gives a total of 10 million dollars.
if the company is talking about "missed profit", unless they wanted to sell those bumpers for $90 dollars, I cannot see who this "analyst" came up with the $180
now if he is talking about damage to the brand... priceless, and I'm afraid the damage is done.
maybe he got the figure form the same place he got the 50%

Guinea Fanpigs, tough luck, eh?

And I am sitting here wishing I could walk in to store buying a contract free iPhone 4 already.. (Working living Sweden/Germany/Hungary) It is an awesome device I'd use for so so much more than just making phone calls. Hey, to me it is a mini computer with a phone app on it.
It is great we have fixes for the initial bugs - now just let me buy one in any local store already!
-
..and what about the proximity sensoe, the volume drop in the iPod etc..i hope they look at these aspects too..
-
All this talk of iPhone 4 issues is starting to make my head spin - is it actually worth the £500 they want for one?
I seriously don't think they should be asking £99 for it in it's present condition frankly. -
did anyone ask you?
-
is it actually worth the £500 they want for one?
I was asking the question, needle ****.
-
If you get a good one, it's worth every penny! Thankfully I've been one of the lucky ones in the u.k, I got mine on launch day and haven't had any problems, if you end up with a dud, I think even £99 is steep!
-
Well as of now what this news is just speculation, not until tomorrow should we find out what Apple really is thinking about.
Since I plan on getting the new iphone 4 in August, hopefully i'll get the build (next week or the week after that)
-
and I was asking you "did anyone ask you that question before?"
who's the needle **** now?
-
You Twat
I started my post first and asked a simple question.
Now go **** off somewhere else.
-
This so-called analyst is assuming 100% of the iPhone 4's are faulty which is clearly not the case. For all we know it may have been a specific batch on a particular line at one or more production plants, who knows but it's not a global issue.
-
..where is "before" mentioned by yourself in your first initial reply to me?
It isn't, so I rest my case. -
i don't want a fucking bumper
-
Yes, it is actually the case, it's a hardware design flaw and the only reason some people can't reproduce it is because they are already in a strong signal area. This has been verified.
-
I'm in a known crap signal area and CANNOT replicate the issue. My 3GS had 1 bar here, my ip4 has 1 bar here, I can hold my phone anyway I want, squeeze it to breaking point and still no signal drop.
-
No im not want a bumper. Give me some cash to get another nice case.
-
I don't want a bumper. The phone should be able to work without a case as a life support.
-
iphone rocks but they need to fix that problems

What network are you on? I've tried out about six all in all, and my only gripe was the volume output was lower on all the iP4's compared to my 3GS, and that's a niggle for me, as i like to play music without earphones, and frankly the iPhone 4 volume was pretty low

Thanks , I've just been searching for information about this subject for a while and yours is the greatest I have found out till now. However, what in regards to the bottom line? Are you certain concerning the supply?
