Hmm, isn't a mini iPad basically an iPod Touch?
-
Probably, since an iPad is basically a big iPod touch to begin with.

Yea it's the iPad was quiet ridiculous to begin with I think. Regardless of it being bigger and 3G capable it's a freaking IPod Touch... But hey people will buy it so can't blame them for trying to make more money off of it
-
interesting wonder if it will have retina display or not if it does all those people who have the older models will be pissed
-
never gonna happen....
-
Ipads already 720p
-
for $100 probably ill try it... for more...nahh
-
I call shenanigans on this one.

Seems like a bad product strategy just to try to win over a few kindle readers. The idea with technology is to get bigger and thinner with displays, not smaller. I think it would be better to just make the ipod bigger.
But continuing with apple's world domination on mobile media, it will probably be a completely new product like a plan old iReader (no ios 4, no music/video player etc.)

He said *retina display* not resolution specs ... talking about a high-res 300dpi screen so it'd have to have a LOT of pixels.
Also 1024x768 does not make the 720p grade - that would need a minimum width of 1280 pixels.
So there. N'yah.
P.S. You missed an apostrophe in "Ipad's". -
What was so ridiculous about the iPad. I have found myself taking mine everywhere. It has come to replace my laptop, but obviously it can't in certain aspects, but that's not why I bought. It is not ment to compete with notebooks and I would argue that it is not a big iPod touch. The apps available for the iPad are far more easier, and more useful than those for the touch and iPhone. Try using netflix, or iworks on the touch.

maybe if they come out with a better ipad os to take advantage of its full potential cuz this iphone os isn't cutting it.
-
Depends on the price. I love my ipad and take it everywhere. If given the choice, i think i'd go with a larger ipad screen rather than smaller.
-
I agree with Eskimo, and with you technically. It IS a big iPod Touch..but because its so much bigger u can do a lot of things u can do on the touch.
a laptop is just a bigger netbook? why the hell do people buy laptops?
A) its powerful, B) it does a TON more ****...only because its BIGGER.
keep in mind, im not comparing a netbook and iPad. I'm comparing iPod Touch vs iPad and Netbook vs Notebook
-
i meant you CAN'T**** do on the iPod touch.
-
I think itll be in between the itouch nd the ipad.
-
what a stupid idea. If you want a smaller ipad, then you have to buy an ipod touch.
A mini iPad.. I'm sure it won't happen, its too stupid. -
i agree with most u guys..i love my ipad and wouldnt buy a smaller one..but some ppl might b/c it'd be smaller..size matters to some..':)
-
Stupid new, i want internet browsing in my Hands, not in my Nails, otherwise i would buy an iPhone or an iTouch , the only difference is the price of the screen wich is very hard to find after 7 inch in multitouch , that's why all fakes makes 7 inch not more.
-
I'm pretty sure that in one of Steve Jobs' keynotes that he said that IPS technology was superior to OLED so i doubt that they would make a smaller OLED display
-
It doesn't make musch sense to use LEDs anymore with these things out!
