I've installed it on my 3GS with os4 and it logs me off whenever I close the app. Does t seem to multitask (at least for me). Works fine if I leave it open.

I think that skype is a good app but scam, it is not free at all, always tells me i have no credit for certain phone calls, i rather they update justin tv with video chat and calling.

I have it running on the iPhone 4 with no problems, but it's not jailbroken (obviously)...I hope that's not why, because as soon as a JB for iPhone 4 is released I'm going to use it and I'd like to keep using Skype in the background.

3Gs, iOs4.0.0: I started a Skype call and then switched app. The call stayed and worked just fine. I have not checked my "logged in" status though. Maybe Skype settled for push notifications while not having the app or a call active?

Tried more: Was not in app and msg's and calls were still getting through. The only options I had when receiving call while Skype was in the background was to answer or "Close". I could not indicate being busy. When the other party eventually ended the unanswered call I got a popup from Skype saying "missed call".
While someone was calling me my set alarm went of in the phone resulting in popup:
"Using another audio application ended your Skype call"Even when I was not actively in skype and screen saver was on I was getting popup up with the message.
Works fine for me (non-JB)

I use the 3GS with IOS4 JB and unlocked....and the Multitasking feature does not work...

What's the point of disabling the multitasking features if the iphone is jailbroken ??

It is something to do with Sbsetting. I actually installed Skype on a none jailbroken 4.0 and backed up. Then went through the process of downgrading, jailbreaking, and upgrading to a JB 4.0 and restored from backup. Skype had no issues running in the background. I installed some of JB broken apps and tested everytime (Recent Remove, Recent Log Delete, and iPhone Delivery). Skype worked. I installed Sbsetting, rebooted and Skype stopped. I hope someone will be able to figure out what it is and get us a fix.

i have 3gs with ios 4.0 and it is jb and unlock and i DONT have Sbsetting on my phone and skype is still not working for me. every time i go to the app it is loggin in again!
