connecting iphone 4 to iphone 3g? if you trying so, you will not find such a cable for that operation unless, you enable iphone 4 as a hot spot modem but watch out!
your lovely neighbor will be able to log in through your network as well. -

Since no one mentioned MyWi, a 10 dollar jailbreak app from Rock, I will. I feel it is worth its 10 dollar price tag, but I believe it is raised to 20 dollars for ios4. It handles creating a wifi hotspot from the phone's 3g connection like a champ. No waste of time with browser settings etc...Just turn it on and voila! Ive provided wifi for an iPad, laptop, ipod touches, and iphone 2g all while in a moving car (not all at the same time though). My kid watched a Netflix movie from an iPad (in a moving car)with no problems.
I have even ran a couple of computers at work from the phones 3G connection when our normal internet service provider was temporarily down.
It rocks!!!! Check it out if you are jailbroken. -

Ya he is. Back when the 3GS was new and the dev team was sitting on a jailbreak waiting for apple to release their next update before they
release the jailbreak Geohot came out and said he's gonna release a
jailbreak because he would never sit on a jailbreak he said the dev
team should release it now thats the way we do it apple has an update
we crack it they come out with a nother update and we crack that one
thats the way its done from the beginning he said.
and now he's holding the freaking jailbreak on us..... -

If you have a jailbroken iPhone you don't need this app. You could get one of the many apps from Cydia or Rock that activiate tethering, like possibly buy MyWi or get it for free from the Repo: SinfuliPhoneRepo.com. For someone like me with the new iPhone 4, I need a guide to make this app activate tethering, since there hasn't been a release on a Jailbreak yet.
