i have gmail signed up with my iphone, is there a jailbreak app anyone knows off which can tell me if i got mail or not thru a notification rather than jus a badge and sound. say when my phone is locked, i wouldnt rly kno from the lockscreen. please advise! :)

use lockinfo from cydiaset up your gmail account as an exchange account

expanding on my comment: lockinfo shows you a small preview of your new messages, gmail as exchange account gives you push when you get new messages

I don't see the point of this.
Gmail is already pushed to the default mail app, and your calendars are already push synced to the default calendar app.Your not going to remove these 2 default apps so that the Google app can take over, so why have two sets of notifications for the same thing.

I tried the exchange server/google thing for emails but it keeps saying wrong password even though I am 1000% sure that is the correct one. Any clues?
