Facebook announced its much awaited location-based feature called Places at a small press event yesterday, which allows you to share your location with people on Facebook. it says not available in my region? is anyone else getting that message when they go to use it should i uninstall and reinstall it to fix this or is it a facebook problem. Im in the US so dont see how i cant use it

im jailbroken too and dont get any unable to connect error in the rest of the facebook app

I don't care for places. I'm just glad they fixed a lot of the annoying bugs and added that "Pull Down To Update".

Just updated it...but since I'm in Spain at the moment, didn't get anything out of it. Once I click on "Places" tab, all it says is "This feature will be available in your region soon. Thanks for your patience"

It was working fine on my jb 3gs with 4.0.1. Updated and it was still working, but gave me an error trying to see my messages or the live feed.
Logged off and tried to log in again... FAIL!!!
BiteSMS works great for me, so I uninstalled Facebook and got the previous version from ****, now everything works just fine (as it should be) -

People with jailbroken iPhones having issues with the FB update who have BiteSms & want to continue using both need to delete FB ,install **** from Cydia (if you haven't already) & download FB 3.1.4. This is the best option until there is an update for BiteSms to fix this issue.

Here is the fix: Replace the file:
/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/biteSMSsb.plist
With this....
Filter = { Bundles = (com.apple.springboard); };
Once you do this Facebook 3.2 or whatever the new one is will work

Just to be clear...you are replacing the info within the file..not the actual file

BiteSMS has update the plist file for you so you don't have to edit the original if you don't want to. The BiteSMS people said an updated version of BiteSMS that includes this fix will be pushed out Monday.

I have this problem but am not using bitesms. I've got grip installed however. Jailbroken 3GS on 3.1.3. Any ideas?

I dont have Bitesms and I cant log in to FB it gives me an error.
