Apple Releases iOS 4.1 Golden Master To Developers
Apple has seeded iOS 4.1 Golden Master and iOS SDK 4.1 GM to developers of its iOS Developer program. The Golden Master version means that it is the shipping version of the software that developers must use to develop and submit iPhone apps that are compatible with iOS 4.1. iOS...

Is there any chance comex will release a jb for 4.1!? Hope so, my newly acquired 4 came with 4.0.2 :(
-
iOS 4.0.2 unlikely but iOS 4.1 is definitely a possibility.
-
i suppose they will only release one in november when 4.2 is out.
-
if there is a jailbreak for 4.1, then there will be a jailbreak for 4.0.2, give it time!
-
i'm sure the jailbreak team are on it. and they will release it before the 4.2.
-
in a previous post the dev team said they wouldn't release a jb for 4.02. they basically said it's pointless.....waiting for the next major release... 4.2 would make more sense. in which it does. i feel for you that are stuck with 4.0.2!!!
-
Yeah i suspect they'll wait for 4.2 sadly, oh well, at least the '4' is pretty good without a jb, i'll have too wait.
-
is it possible to downgrade from 4.02 to 4.01? can i just do restore and point to 4.01 IPSW?
-
I just upgrade my Iphone 3G to 4.1 "Golden Master" damn it works like a charm !!
-
If I'm not mistaken 4.2 is going to be for the iPad not iPhone. 4.1 is for the iPhone/iPods.

Roger@how can you upgrade to ios 4.1,when the firmware only realease 8 sept 10(nextweek)?
-
Yep I was thinkIng just the same thing.
IPhone hacks look into it please! :) -
Hmmm wait till 4.2 in November and when that comes out Apple will leak the date of 4.3 say January etc etc. that would be a nice way to stifle jailbreaking.
Personaly I don't think there was anything special worth waisting an exploit on for 4.0.2.
If 4.1 has fixed the major issues with the OS and done a good job of fixing them, it would be worthy of a jailbreak.
That would be for the Dev Team to evaluate and decide though, coz they do all the hard work for us.
-
Think you've hit the nail on the head. Apple seen to be staggering updates, and the Devs then keep waiting for the next best time to jb us, but Apple are getting wise to this..
-
True, true.
-
I'd imagine so. If they do opt for regular updates they run the risk of alienating even the most ardent "apple groupie" who will get teed off with the constant down time of their device during the update/restore cycle.
They've had long enough to resolve the core issues and test it. I, for one, wont be impressed if they've f'd it up with a half assed solution that requires a further update in 2 months time.
-
Yeah, i know. Frankly tho, i just got my '4' a couple of days ago, and i've had better 3G than i ever got on my 3GS, same network, move in the same areas daily. I'm very impressed so far.
I honestly can't see what the hoo ha is, maybe i've been lucky.
still hope to get a JB on it sooner rather than later tho :( -
My line of thinking is, that these problems could be more of a hardware issue. Slight variances of tolerance between batches of components. Possibly from different suppliers, dictates what issues if any a device succumbs to.
Since updating to 4.0.1 my iPhone 3g has developed signal blackspots that didn't exist before (a la iPhone 4 signal issue). Whereas friends with identical devices / OS's don't.
I don't think it's a network issue as 2 mates are also on the 3 network in the UK.

Jailbreak delayed because 4.2 comes in 2 months? Fat chance. There will be 5.0 in 18 month. I think Dev Team should wait!! Haha! 4.0.1 was out 1 month after 4.0. They did it. 4.0.2 followed weeks after and now 3 weeks later 4.1. THAT is not worth "cat & mouse", but 2 months? Their sponsors would go on strike. So 4.1 will be jailbroken within 1 week from official release. That is where I bet. Besides...should Dev Team take 2
months vacation without pay??? :). Hacking is what they do, and VERY WELL TOO. Thanks Dev Team. -
I agree, tho as for the death grip, it does go down slightly sometimes, but once it actually went up! Bizarre but overall it's performing very well
-
lol shut up. There ll be a jb for 4.1
