S Jobs is very stupid. If he will make no jailbrakes work on iphone then who will buy it??? I dont think that everyone in US will use AT&T just for iphone. Daah!!
-
ohh yeah first
-
but i hope ultrasn0w gonna uppdate and a new jailbreak for ios 4.1, i am now at 4.0.1 on my 3g ,
-
Thanks for the info
-
THAT DOESNT SOUND TOO GOOD .. SO I CANT UPGRADE UNLESS I WANT TO LOSE MY UNLOCK..
-
Thats how its always been in the scene get with it. When you upgrade you lose your jb + unlock and the unlock tends to take a long time till it comes out. Nothing new here.
-
Also, as mentioned in another post, you will be able to use TinyUmbrella to upgrade to 4.1, while still preserving your baseband. DO NOT DO THIS UNTIL THE 4.1 JB IS RELEASED.
As long as you go that route, and preserve your baseband, ultrasn0w should still work.

Can I update to 4.1 if I plan to jailbrake my phone but not unlock it?
-
No, not until Dev Team give a green signal that it is safe to jailbreak iOS 4.1.
-
I bought an iphone4 10 days ago with iOS 4.0.2 and I didn't update it yet. I'm still waiting for any JB.
:(
-
If your not Jailbroken and running 4.0.2, then you might as well update to 4.1.
Devteam always comes out with a JB.
This has been happening since 3.0. They always say please don't update but then 1-2 weeks later they day it's ok to update it cause they got the JailBreaking tool running -
no dont do that bad thing , if you are on 4.0.2 then you have the unlockable baseband , but you will need jailbreak. If you update to 4.1 then it will be impossible as this thread says to unlock.i sugest you wait with 4.02.
-
Yes, you are right, no one is buying the iPhone. Those 41 million iphones are just sitting in drawers unused because they switched to Android.
-
Theres already a jailbreak buddy

Please answer a question anybody.
My iphone 3Gs Mod. MC was accidently updated to 4.0.2 5.13.04 it was not backed up. It was jailbroken and attempting to unlock but in the unlock proceedure i got the dreaded connect to itunes, i found a backup in itunes but it forced me to update to 4.0.2. Now no longer jailbroken and can not unlock. what do i do if there is to be no hack 4thcoming for 4.0.2 and they advise do not update to 4.1, am i just sunk. I am in peru now with the at&t phone and i need local sevice. HELP -
-
Isn't this a catch 22? The Dev team announced that there wouldn't be a 4.0.2 jailbreak. But we need the jailbreak to preserve the baseband.
-
I don't get it, since its called 4.1 jailbreak, why should I avoid upgrading to 4.1
-
I Bought a new iphone4 with 4.0.2!! I don't understand what to do! Update or not?? Or it will be a jb for 4.0.2??? Im really lost!!! Someone can help please?? Thnx.
-
Not what he said knuckle head. He said that tons of people only buy the iPhone because it can be hacked to work so much better than stock and apple tries so hard to stop it when they should embrace it because there are like I said tons of people that only get it for the extra value jailbreaking brings
-
Why all the fuss and importance of unlocking? I have a 3GS 32gb on O2 on PAYG and on their site they will unlock your phone professionally and permanently for £15, surely other networks do the same, it worked a treat.........
-
is it possible to unlock iphone 3gs with 5.14.02 baseband? whether today or in the future?
-
Unfortunatly that's not the case in North America! Rogers in Canada (and AT&T in the U.S.) flat out refuse under any circumstances to do the unlock - even though as you say it is possible for them to do it. It baffles me, as I would be more than happy to pay good money to have my phone permanently unlocked of Rogers!!
