Any advice about a Iphone 4 stuck in emergency mode? I can't seem to restore or load other versions. I have tried normal and DFU mode.
This happened when I was installing 4.1 software after backing up the base ROM. I have no SIM inside. Maybe that's the problem?
Help.. It's dead and useless at this point.. :(

the second you put a sim card in it, it will work. this happened to my 3G when i was tinkering with it. i put my sim card and it fixed itself

Try downloading "tiny umbrella" from the web
Open it and click " kick out of recovery mode" that worked for me -

Outstanding!! However, i'm still on 3.1.3. Don't really want to upgrade to OS4 (& above) tried it but didn't like the multi-tasking feature, so I downgraded. Any one share my sentiments? I'd like to hear from you. Also, i'd like to know if it's actually possible to use multi-tasking apps (eg. proswitcher etc...) on jailbroken 3GS on OS4 (& above)? I tried it too but phone went into safe mode each time I installed. Had to remove program. :(

Yes the same here I don't like the multitasking in ios4 I prefer proswitcher I think there will be an ios4 version of the app as well..and I can do all the ios features ages ago..so not so excited to update

I found the multitasking with iOS4.0 on my 3GS was not great, either. But, instead of downgrading and the associated aggravation, I installed Backgrounder & SBSettings from Cydia and it is far better.
Now, this folder app should make it even better.

I've been checking Cydia for the past couple days and all I can find is FoldersInFolders and of course Infinifolders .. I'm curious as well .. is there just a delay in getting the app up or is coming from another source? I assumed "shortly" meant within a day or two

How can you accidentally upgrade? You have to sit through the whole process with that cancel button in front of you the whole time.

cool, but for what do you need so many folders?
you dont even use it that much, maybe only if u have over 100 apps and still you will not use them all..so its kinda useless. -
