Amazon Takes A Dig At iPad's Glossy Screen In New Kindle Commercial
Amazon has attacked Apple’s iPad in the new Kindle commercial launched over the weekend. The ad features a guy sitting poolside in a t-shirt and shorts struggling to read an e-book on a black LCD-screen device that looks an awful lot like an iPad. A scene from Amazon.com’s latest TV...

But can she read underwater??

Lol just get a real book. and btw the book app on the kindle looks a lot like ibooks.
-
Well, it's a much better e-reader, almost like a real book. 10 times better than ipad.
but it is a one-function(i know there is some added features this time such as light-webbrowsing, but still) device, so you shouldn't expect anything else.Think both Kindle and ipad is great, but in different situations.

It is difficult to read a print book or newspaper in direct sunlight so this commercial is point less. I would also have to imagine it would possibly damage your eyes if done for long periods of time.
-
If she didn't spend so much on her Sun-Glasses maybe she could afford an iPad too. She obviously didn't buy a kindle because she's frugal...

I'd consider the new Kindle as well. But I have it for free on ipad, plus all my other apps. Plus I'd rather it had a virtual keyboard instead of all the buttons. Actually I think the Barnes & Noble Nook is better now for $10.00 more. Still can't beat the iPad though.

You really need your eyes testing then.

I do have problem with the ipad glossy screen, even when reading indoor, I had to dim the light to read. I am selling my ipad on ebay and waiting apple to fix the problem in the future.
-
right...but can your kindle surf the net? Watch a movie - stream video? Push documents? Create stuff? Email anyone - remote desktop your home computer? Send text messages? Make VOP phone calls? etc.
$139.00 for a digital book. wow.

So many people bought an Ipad specifically just to read an ebook? Like 2 or 3? They really are desperate if the best they can come up with is not reading a book in direct sunlight. Also I'd be really pissed if I dropped $399 on that piece of junk and now its $139
Im sure that screen will come in handy when Im watching HD videos or streaming the web so Amazon can keep their crappy ebook reader -
Also if the best rap this dude can come up with is "how are you reading this?" He deserves to be pawned..what a loser

Maybe it looks like ibooks because Apple stole it from Amazon.
-
Um - get an anti glare screen protector. I have them on my iTouch, Iphone, and Ipad. Anti glare, plus eliminates 80% of the finger marks on screen and actually "floats" your finger much nicer than using directly on glass. Yes some of the "crispness" of the naked display is lost, but the other benefits outweigh IMO.

ROFL!! Yeah ain't that the truth!

Wee, fanboys padding each other's back. I think (like asger) that they have a point since they do in fact have a better e-reader. Yet if you want additional features the iPad is more suitable.
@HaXXoR: way to go thinking that iBooks came before kindle... Apple have never been first-mover on ANYTHING - they simply just deliver the most easy access, thorough product with limitations which novice users wont notice. -
Well said

Get both ;-)
