First .. Ha haa .. I don't see this idea developing .. As they would feel to improve the current flash itself .. And iPhone 5 will be out only on 2013 .. Next phone would be iPhone 4s (s for better signal strength ) ..

I don't have a flash problem. The camera on iPhone 4 is sweet. Much better than the EVO.

Yawn, Apple patents everything they come across in the hope to get a future lever in core patent battles re 3G, LTE etc. Most of the stuff is random noise which will never make it into any product, but the bloggers go nuts for every little patent Apple files. C'mon, a selective flash consisting of several (high power, high cost) LEDs. I would rather prefer a higher capacity battery for the same price increase, I could also use this for longer talk-time, not only flash...
