I think I've said it before on here. The Iphone is just a handheld computer that makes calls. Apple will always cite compatability issues between older devices and newer functions. Granted some are based on hardware capabilities (crap camera reselution, battery life on 3g's). but software is software. It will run, not as fast granted. But I reckon most of us are willing to put up with that. If not, crApple could always program in an off switch. shoot am I first? bugger lol x

snowbreeze 2.0.1 hacktivation problem solved1) Create a modified firmware in expert mode without activation, flash it and wait until the phone starts up and presents you the emergency screen. Use iREB in case iTunes prevents you from applying the firmware to bypass the error.
Use a file browser to access the filesystem. iPhoneBrowser does the job.2) Now, download the right bundle for your phone from msftguy's homepage and get the file "lockdownd.patch".
(It can be used in the recent PwnageTool for Mac by the way and activates your phone correctly. You need to do it manually now.)http://sites.google.com/site/msftguy/

3) Using iPhoneBrowser download "lockdownd" from "usr/libexec".
Place "lockdownd", "lockdownd.patch" and "bspatch.exe" all in one directory on your PC.
Holding shift, right-click this folder and open a command prompt.
Enter this command to generate the patched lockdownd file:

bspatch lockdownd lockdownd_patched lockdownd.patch
4) Do the following steps with iPhoneBrowser on your phone:Open the path "usr/libexec" and right-click the file "lockdownd", choose "Replace file..".
Select "lockdownd_patched", it will be renamed and the permissions will be copied automatically.5) Restart. Your phone is now hacktivated.

This does not work as advertised. I jailbroke my 3GS with iOS 4.1 using Snowbreeze 2.0.1, so I already had Game Center. But the HDR Enabler doesn't do anything except add a "Keep Normal/HDR photo" option in Settings. The HDR button inside the Photo App is missing. I looked into it deeper and found that all this hack does is modify a setting in a preferences file.. My guess is that this might have worked for iOS 4.1beta, but Apple removed the functionality from the Camera App before release.

yer im not getting anything new on my iphone 3g either just a new setting in the camera app and no new game center app

jailbreak 4.1 snowbreeze. download...installed...rebooted. Like the others I have no icon or settings in the photo settings.

Does not work for me either, and he updated it to a newer version today, and still it does nothing. Hope he really can make it work. I am going to try the SSH route myself and see if I can get the function to work.

Not only does it not work, but it also disables multitasking and seperate wallpaper backgrounds on my jailbroken, iOS 4.1 3G.

The author emailed me back after I reported the problem and he admitted that it didn't work at all and that he had emailed ModMyi to ask them to remove it from Cydia. Lame.

I have a jailbroken 3GS. I can't find the enabler on Cydia. I tried the SSH method. No switch or setting on camera app.

Totally unrelated,but true story! I sold my htc hd2 windows hack to run froyo, to buy an iphone 4! i sold it for twice i paid, but hey my gain is someone elses loss?

I used limera1n and game center appeared from the begining but the HDR not. i have an 3GS [was version 3.1.2] now is 4.1 :)

@Jamal, that's because HDR was never included in the 4.1 update for 3gs. Game center was. Just because an iphone 4 and an iphone 3gs are on the same OS, doesn't mean all of the features on the iphone 4 will work on the 3gs.
