Hi guys,

I am from india currently working in US (short period). I am very eager to buy an Iphone4. I already use an Iphone 3g (2yrs old). Since Iphone is not launched yet in India, i plan to get it here from apple store, without contract (fully paid $699). However the problem is that i need to unlock the phone to be able to use in India. And for that i need AT&T sim forever (everytime i update i need to use authentic sim to activate). Guys kindly tell me if its really worth taking so much pain to use Iphone4. I am in a dilema. Looking forward to ur replies.

spend the extra money and get a canadian version from ebay or what ever source you have. It is Factory unlocked and works anywhere in the world

Jailbreak for iOS 4.0.2 is highly unlikely, however Chronic dev team is working on a jailbreak for iOS 4.1 for iPhone 4 but there is no set date.

I don’t know if jailbreaking is hacking or not but I don’t think it’s allowed by apple. I too have my iphone jailbreaked but I used the jailbreak from some popular sites so I hope I am safe.

I will never understand why in EVERY article from iPhonehacks there are always people asking when the JB will be released...as if Iphonehacks, or anyone else, actually knows. It's been worked on, and will be released when ready. Might be today, might be tomorrow, might be 3 months from now. NO ONE KNOWS. So just relax and keep checking back.
