I agree. I know the iPad doesn't have every feature a laptop or computer has, but that would be cumbersome; carry around a laptop and iPad... no thanks.

I bet that ATT will charge an additional fee to tether lol

so what's apples explanation of not allowing the ipad to tether to the iphone without a jailbreak?
can't be an argument about data use, since they allow laptops to tether, which use much more idata than an ipad
no, it's sole purpose is to force users to buy a 3G enabled ipad.
seriously, this is one for the courts. they specially block ipad tethering, and no other devices.

I would like to tether my iPad to my iPod touch so I can use face time on the go. Also maybe an app for photo transfers that is faster than blutooth.

if the ipad can tether to the iphone then no more service plan for iphone. just get toktumi line 2 app and you can make phone calls and text for $15 a month unlimited. at least for the 2 gb of service you buy through att. so its 45 i think for 2gb+ tethering for iphone if its the same for ipad then $45 + $15 = 60 for unlimited calls, text, email and internet up to 2 GB. cant wait!
