how exactly does apple tv work? can i only watch videos i got i my itunes library or any movies? e.g. can i watch divx videos/dvds too or only what i bought and downloaded from apple?

If I could stream my music, DiVX and MKV movies from my Windows Home Server, I'd buy one in a hearbeat!

If u could install apps like airvideo, then it would be really cool. But I have the movie side covered with a western digital hd tv live, I ordered an apple tv to stream 100% of my music collection to my living room ( I have alot of drm) and this will replace my airport express, 99 bucks is a deal

If you can play it through QuickTime you can stream it otherwise you will be converting your library. In other words, no it does not do divx.

LMAO, All these things, that Apple Tv does, I do and more with my playstation 3. I think apple has its market and should stick to it,i.e. Ipod and Iphone, but the home entertainment market, is so out of Apples league. Now if apple tv, had say a blueray/dvd drive and 2 teribytes of storage, it would be a great consideration.

I dont know what you were expecting, if it had 2 TB of HDD, and whatever you told so, it would't be a change. And tell me why would you by it from the Apple. The Apple is always looking for revolutions. No one had made it that easy and that legal, and fast to watch some movie. And the Jailbreak had also come, so it's not necessary to pay. So now it's something that so small and you can watch movies on, plus, you can watch Youtube too, and get your movie files from your computer and airplay and i believe the divix is also solved with the JailbreakWhat else could be expected for your 99 dollars?
