Apple Might Release iOS 4.1.1 To Fix Daylight Saving Time Bug
Two weeks back we had reported that iPhone users in New Zealand had reported that their iPhone alarms were going off an hour early ever since the country switched to daylight savings on September 26th. As expected, the day light saving bug has also affected iPhone users in Australia after...

Thanks, your description of the jailbreak situation helps clear things up. Great work as usual thanks a bunch!

Will i lose my limera1n jailbreak if i update to 4.1.1,thanks
-
Is this a new bug that was introduced? How come we haven't seen any alarm/daylight savings time bug in the last three firmwares?

How about a fix for the damned persistent wifi bug and the terrible battery life. It would be nice if apple would at least acknowledge those issues. My ipod 32gb 3g is nearly crippled due to the ridiculous battery life since 4.0. If you won't fix the problem start signing old firmware so we can revert!

"Some users have raised concerns whether it will patch the exploit used by Geohot in limera1n...Its highly unlikely at least for all existing iDevices as limera1n uses a bootrom exploit and Geohot has mentioned that it is unpatchable."
Your jailbreak will most likely be lost, like every firmware update, BUT you'll be able to jailbreak again in the future, due to the exploit Geohot used..which really can't be patched. I wouldn't worry too much

Oops..didn't clarify what I wanted. You'll lose the jailbreak, like you do when you update your firmware, but you just basically turn around and re-jailbreak with limera1n
-
dont need do that, maybe that iphone has problem... anyway apple want to fix limra1n... think so
-
limera1n can't be fixed, how many time do you guys have to be told...
Same with SHAtter, it can't be patched either.
Just some minor tweaks they need to do for each firmware to make sure everything works still, and then there, done. Unless you buy a new iPhone, it's almost guaranteed you'll be able to jailbreak forever.
-
What we really need is a Bluetooth fix?!
-
No you will be able to upgrade and jailbreak only maybe tethered (if you have 4G en 3GS new bootrom) because comex used one userland exploit in it to make it untethered.
-
No you can't lose the jailbreak limera1n can't be stopped but Apple CAN and most likely WILL patch the eploit that makes it untethered which means while sure you can jailbreak all you want BUT it will be tethered meaning you have to rerun limera1n every time you restart your device. It's just easier to save your SHSH blobs to Cydia and make yourself a personal back up with tiny umbrella as well and stay on 4.1; sure apple knows we can always jailbreak but they will make it he'll for us.
